Listen up! If you haven't read Soulmates, The Manifesto Of How To Be Interesting, Am I Normal Yet? and How Hard Can Love Be? go and read them. Yes, that's right. Now.

Holly Bourne is the queen of YA writing. Her feminist approach to writing on young women demonstrates that, yes, young people care about big issues. Do not belittle that, do not doubt it for a second. Some teenagers genuinely care. Her stories revolve around the dramas of growing up, on both a small and large scale and she tackles some huge issues such as OCD, an often misunderstood condition.

I seriously admire Holly - she's so young, yet she's achieved so much. She was Print Journalist of the Year in 2010 and got a first class degree in journalism from Sheffield University. The level of research and work that goes into her novels is indisputable and they've quickly become favourites among YA fans.

The best part is Holly works at some kind of rapid rate to produce books in quick succession, meaning we basically always have one to look forward to. Her next novel, What's A Girl Gotta Do? is due to be released this August (preorder here).

Who else adores Holly Bourne? Talk to me!

Love, Jess
